Love Thy Neighborhood Is Saving More Time And Money With Kindful’s Peer-To-Peer Features

Love Thy Neighborhood (LTN) is an urban missions agency that equips young adults to “do justice” by setting them up with social justice internships. The organization impacts a wide range of causes and interest areas, including homelessness, healthcare, refugees, and construction and low-income housing.

Kiana Brown is the Director of Operations and co-founder of LTN. She describes her role as split between catching everything that “slips through the cracks” and assisting with the vision and planning for the organization’s future. It was that eye on LTN’s future needs that led Brown to Kindful.

Searching For A More Affordable And Integrated Solution

Because LTN’s interns fundraise to support their experience, the organization needed to provide them with a way to create their own fundraisers. However, they didn’t want to create more work for themselves.

“We didn’t want to have to enter those donations manually,” Brown says.

Brown was not happy with LTN’s previous donor management software. When she went looking for a new solution, she knew she needed something that was more integrated and affordable. She also knew that it had to facilitate crowdfunding and peer-to-peer fundraising.

Save More Time

“Kindful has saved me LOTS of time with donation management,” Brown says. “Before Kindful I would have to enter each donation that interns received manually, even if it was received online.”

Another benefit of using Kindful is that setting up the pages is “so easy and user friendly” that Brown no longer has to spend time coaching interns through setting up their pages.

Raise More Funds

“Kindful makes it MUCH easier for our interns to raise money and track it,” she says. “The transaction fees are also less than we were paying previously so we are able to keep more of the donation! Also, we love the feature that gives people the option to cover the transaction fee. About 75% of our donors do cover the fee.”

Do More Good

According to Brown, it is Kindful’s ability to help the organization save more time and raise more funds that allows them to do more good.

“Because Kindful helps save us time and money, we are able to focus more on training up the next generation of Christian leaders and our interns are able to focus more on serving the community of the hurting and marginalized around them,” says Brown.

Brown loves that LTN interns are able to customize their peer-to-peer page to fit their personalities. She also calls out how easy it is for the interns to set up and maintain their pages.

And speaking of easy, Brown is also a huge fan of the fact that all of this exists within Kindful. Because they don’t have additional steps they have to take to import data, this makes running reports “very quick and easy.” Plus, they can track the progress of each of their interns all in one place.
